About Us

WHO WE ARE

TRU POWER (formerly ROME Energy, Inc.) developed the first scalable tritium power solution incorporating a patented containment process and unique organic compound. Our tritium powered micro-energy solutions harness and optimize the available energy during the long-duration half-life of tritium. TRU POWER solutions utilize technologies developed from more than 10 years R&D that began at the University of Maryland to explore the unique properties of tritium as a potential energy source.

WHAT WE DO

TRU POWER designs next-generation micro-energy solutions using tritium, a naturally decaying element to generate continuous power for long-term power requirements. Since the tritium half life is > 12 years, it provides the ability to increase the reliability and security of devices that it powers. TRU POWER solutions use tritium with a wide variety of applications for devices in environments requiring low power and long life, such as mission critical requirements including devices for the military, national security, and health care, as well as sensing devices for fire, earthquake & environmental for the oil/gas/chemical industries.

Development work was initially done under contracts from the Army Research Labs. Our core competency is in the designand commercialization of next-generation micro-energy solutions using tritium to transform what is possible with today’s electronic devices. We are using tritium-based atomic cells that are intrinsically simple to make safely, environmentally inert, and can be packaged in existing small formats for plug-and-play uses.
