Who we are

TRU POWER (formerly ROME Energy, Inc.)

TRU POWER (formerly ROME Energy, Inc.) developed the first scalable tritium power solution incorporating a patented containment process and unique organic compound. Our tritium powered micro-energy solutions harness and optimize the available energy during the long-duration half-life of tritium. TRU POWER solutions utilize technologies developed from more than 10 years R&D that began at the University of Maryland to explore the unique properties of tritium as a potential energy source. Development work was initially done under contracts from the Army Research Labs.

OUR WORK

TRU POWER designs next-generation micro-energy solutions using tritium, a naturally decaying element to generate continuous power for long-term power requirements.

The Green Future of Microenergy

The single biggest issue for the growth in the world economy is the ready generation and storage of energy.  Global demand for batteries and power solutions is increasing as the world economies experience continued growth, and the need to address climate change catalyzes an accelerated shift toward sustainable energy. The transition to a green energy future requires multiple energy technologies and sources.  TRU POWER is part of that solution.

A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION

Tritium is an organic energy source versus a chemical storage solution such as lithium. It is a byproduct of nuclear energy production and is already available and stored at nuclear facilities. Recycling this underutilized resource to power the interconnected world provides a sustainable contribution to the green energy future.

POWERING THE CONNECTED WORLD!

Today there are billions of electronic devices being deployed across the globe in smart homes, cities, streets, buildings, vehicles and more, all part of the Internet of Things (IoT). The installed base of Global Devices (PCs, tablets and mobile phones) reached 6.4 billion units in 2022 (Gartner). And IOT connections are expected to reach almost 25 billion by 2025 according to the GSMA. This spectrum of IoT devices provides a rich marketplace for the innovative use of our long-term power technologies, either by deploying solutions that previously were impractical or unfeasible or dramatically reducing the cost of operations for networks of devices and sensors.
